Aeros Aid

During our morning Twitter fix, we came across a tweet from @AkronAeros attempting to get 400 followers by opening day. Their account has been active for over a year, and even though the Aeros season ended on a good note, their Twitter following should have been larger. We could have simply overlooked the tweet and went about our normal “Twitter business” but we decided to put our Twitter network to the challenge.

In less than an hour, the 400 follower goal was achieved.  Being the type of agency we are, we decided to take it a step further. Ironically, so did the person managing Aeros Twitter account.  The goal was now 500 followers.

Although that sounds simple enough, finding 100 quality followers is challenging.

Two hours after accepting the second challenge, we were only 40 followers away from our goal.  Seeking sports enthusiasts, baseball fanatics, and sports bloggers assistance, we helped the Akron Aeros not only surpass their opening day Twitter goal, but also increased the Aeros awareness on Twitter.

At the time of writing this blog post, the Aeros now have 556 followers, of which 163 were gained in less than 24 hours.  The Aeros pitched their challenge right down the middle, and we hit a homerun.
